Today we made the ‘Manhattan Beach Test bar’–another ‘soft & datey’ gourmet protein bar recipe created by a return customer.
Here is a list of the ‘base ingredients’ selected:
- Raw almond butter
- Brown rice protein
- Egg Protein
- Whey isolate
One of the benefits of selected multiply protein powders in a recipe is to diversify the amino acid profile. In this case three protein powders were selected making the bars in this recipe a ‘complete protein’ (all essential amino acids present).
In order to add some crispiness, the customer also added pea protein crisps. Pea protein crisps also increase overall protein levels.
Here are the ingredients that were added in order to add major flavor to the ‘Manhattan Beach Test bar’:
- Freeze-dried banana
- Cinnamon powder
- Cacao powder
- Sea salt
Another ingredient in this recipe was coconut oil–a very common choice amongst our customers. It adds a mild coconut flavor, healthy fats, and also ensure a more moist protein bar.
To add more nutrition and crunch, oats, flaxseeds, and brazil nuts were selected.
To boost nutrition levels, maca was the final ingredient added to this unique recipe.
