‘Cherry Chip’ was the protein bar recipe that we made today. This was another ‘minimalist’ creation that contains only 9 total (vegan) ingredients.
As always, all of these recipes can be easily mixed with kitchen tools and do not require cooking or baking.
The customer chose the ‘soft & chewy’ consistency with the following three base ingredients:
- Roasted almond butter
- Fiber syrup (tapioca root)
- Pea protein isolate
- Date paste
The base ingredients are the most abundant ingredients found within a recipe, and often contribute significantly to the flavor and nutrition profile.
Two dried fruit options were selected for this recipe; freeze-dried blueberries, and tart/sour cherries. Both add some extra sweetness, and considerable flavor.
The final two ingredients added to ‘Cherry Chip’ were organic dark chocolate chips and vanilla, both of which additional sweetness and chocolate flavor.

What to Expect
Plenty of almond flavor with an ‘earthy’ tone (pea protein isolate). The date paste, chocolate chips, and dried fruit will increase sweetness levels, but generally bars that use fiber syrup as a binding ingredient aren’t overly sweet. A small amount of crunch (almonds).
