Today we made a protein bar recipe called ‘Antioxidant Answer’–a low sugar bar that uses a ‘soft & nutty/seedy’ base.
The main ‘base’ ingredients are as follows:
- Raw and roasted almond butter
- Fiber syrup
- Brown rice protein
- Pea protein isolate
To further boost protein levels, collagen powder was added as a ‘booster’. Derived from pasture-raised cattle, collagen powder is a highly digestible protein that helps repair tissue.
For both a coconutty flavor and plenty of healthy fats, coconut mana, dried coconut, and coconut oil were all included in this recipe.
To add a little crunch to each bite the customer chose a combination of walnuts, brown rice crisps, and chia seeds.
Flavor oils and dried fruit always have a major impact on taste, and the following three were selecte:
- Freeze-dried banana
- Cookie dough flavor
- Caramel flavor
To finish the ‘Antioxidant Answer’ off, flaxseed powder and bee pollen were the final ingredients.
