Today we made a ‘soft & datey’ vegan protein bar recipe that was named ‘Anne’s goodies’ by the customer.
In addition to date paste, the following main ingredients were selected:
- Cashew butter
- Pea protein
- Brown rice protein
In order to make sure there were plenty of omega 3 fatty acids in this concoction, a combination of chia powder, flasxeeds, and chia seeds were added.
The customer also wanted a crispy/crunchy texture, so they added cacao nibs and brown rice crisps both of which are in the ‘flavor & texture enhancers’ section.
For additional flavor, vanilla extract and cinnamon powder were added. Both make nice additions to most protein bar recipes as they combine nicely with nearly every other ingredient.
Freeze-dried banana and coconut were the two choices under the ‘dried fruit’ category. This is an outstanding ingredient pairing–one of our favorite in this category.

What to Expect
A mildly sweet cashew/datey flavor with a hint of cinnamon, banana, and coconut. The vegan proteins will give this one a little ‘earthiness’, but if you are familiar with the taste of vegan protein bars it should be a familiar taste. A nice crispy/crunchy factor thanks to the cacao nibs and rice crisps.
