New ‘Flavor Oils’ Section added to ‘Cheat Day’ and ‘Gourmet’ Bar Pages

In order to simplify the custom bar ingredient selection process, we’ve created a separate section for all of the flavor oils we offer. This includes both extracts and natural flavors.

Prior to this change, the flavor oils were grouped with ‘Texture & Flavor Enhancers’, making the number of ingredient options a little overwhelming.

If you haven’t tried adding any flavor oils to your protein bars yet, we highly recommend giving it a shot, as many of our customer’s favorite recipes contain them.

Now here’s a little more information about them…

What are Flavor Oils?

Flavor oils are a great way to amplify the taste of any protein bar. We offer both pure extracts as well as some incredible natural flavors, both of which offer a serious blast to your taste buds.

Extracts are derived directly from a plant or fruit and are not man-made. They include:

  • Orange
  • Lemon
  • Lime
  • Mint

These are man-made using 100% natural plant-derived ingredients. They include:

  • Butter Pecan
  • Cake Batter
  • Caramel
  • Cherry
  • Chocolate Cheesecake
  • Cookie Dough
  • Cookies & Cream
  • Gingerbread
  • Maple
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Raspberry
  • Rum
  • Shortcake
  • Smores

How do I Add Flavor Oils to My Protein Bars?

‘Flavor Oils’ can be selected on either the Gourmet or Cheat Day bar creation pages (the second last section on each page)

You can add up to two oils in each box of bars, regardless of the base option you choose. Hovering over the flavor oil image will show the list of ingredients in that oil.

Since flavor oils are very strong, we recommend you proceed with caution when adding them to your bars! Even though they account for only about 1-3% of the ingredients of your bar they can be quite overpowering.

  • Although you can add up to two oils to your bars, we typically don’t recommend this unless the two oils complement each other (ie. cookie dough/cake, lemon/lime, mint/chocolate, etc.).
  • Most flavor oils will overpower other ingredient options. So if you choose lemon or lime, for example, expect lots of citrus flavor!
