Goji berries are a low-sugar ‘super food’ that can boost both flavor and nutrition in your protein bar recipe.

Although not nearly as popular as they were a few years ago, they are still a common ‘dried fruit’ addition used by many of our customers.

What are They?

Also know as wolfberries, they are a high nutrient dense low sugar/high protein berry from China.

Dried goji berries are most common in North America, though fresh/raw berries can also be consumed.

Some people rehydrate dried berries in water before consumption.

What do They Taste Like?

Definitely unique… Some describe their taste a little like the combination between a raspberry and a tomato.

What is Their Texture?

Dried Goji’s are chewy, and sometimes hard and crunchy. It helps to chop them into smaller pieces before adding them to a protein bar recipe.

What are the Health Benefits?

Goji berries are a nutrient dense fruit. Here is a list of some of their nutritional highlights:
